24th Annual Healdsburg Harvest Century Bicycle Tour

Friday, July 9th, 2010

The Healdsburg Harvest Century Bicycle Tour is just one week away! Healdsburg is known for being one of the best places to cycle, and if you’re into cycling and racing, this is the perfect activity for you! There can’t be anything better than cycling through vineyards, especially during this time of the year since the grapes are growing! There are races for cyclists of all levels. Road and mountain bike riders will enjoy this moderately challenging ride through the Alexander, Dry Creek & Russian River Valleys. Distance options include 23, 37 or 60 miles; gradually increasing in difficulty. The 23 mile route is rather flat, while the 37 & 60 mile routes have more rolling hills and moderate climbs.

We highly recommend you register for this event and stay for the weekend! We are almost booked for that weekend, so if you’d like to stay in one of our vacation homes that are right in Dry Creek, Alexander Valley or Russian River Valley, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at (707) 433-8899. We’d love to help you out!

Good luck!

Another Delicious Dinner At Bistro Des Copains

Friday, June 25th, 2010

We had dinner at Bistro Des Copains in Occidental last night and had a wonderful time, as usual! Bistro Des Copains is a cozy restaurant in West County, and it’s the perfect place to have an intimate dinner with friends or family. We had oysters- Kusshis, Skookums, and Miyagis (so fresh and so sweet), corn chowder (which was just amazing), pan-seared sole with capers, lemon and brown butter sauce, mashed potatoes and haricot verts (so yummy), New York strip with crispy potato chips and vegetables (so juicy and flavorful), Meyer lemon crème brûlée and caramel pot de crème- just extremely scrumptious!

Bistro Des Copains is one of my favorite restaurants in the world! Everything is just absolutely delicious- from their fresh bread and fresh tapenade, delicious soups and salads, incredible main courses and their desserts that are to die for!

You HAVE to visit Bistro Des Copains if you come up to wine country. All the people who work there are our dear friends- they’re all so sweet and caring, especially the owner, Michel. So get in the your car, enjoy a scenic drive to West County and have dinner at Bistro Des Copains. I’m certain you’ll fall in love with this wonderful restaurant!

Farmers Market & Tuesdays In The Plaza

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

If you’ll be visiting Healdsburg anytime soon, we’d like to invite you to attend the free concert at the plaza every Tuesday from 6:00PM-8:00PM, and the farmers market from 4:00PM-6:30PM at Plaza at Vine and North Streets!

Tuesdays In The Plaza is a tradition for many of us here in Healdsburg- almost everyone in town comes together and we bring a picnic blanket and a basket of yummy things to munch on such as cheese, crackers, fresh fruits, and pasta and bring our own chairs and catch up with friends. The music is always great and everyone gets up and starts dancing in the middle!

So if you’ll be in town on a Tuesday, don’t forget to stop by and enjoy the music! See you there!
